Resolution to Delay the Implementation of the Revised Parking Policy
General Information
Whereas the larger campus community deserves to review the parking study that has resulted in a significant change in parking policy,
Whereas the announced policy conflicts with public and private conversations with parking and transportation administrators,
Whereas the policy leaves out graduate students in general and graduate student instructors in particular,
Whereas the policy significantly affects unpaid employee time outside of regular work hours,
Whereas the policy disproportionately impacts those employees who make the least at our institution,
Whereas the new policy directly conflicts with the current Parking Allocation Policy from May 5, 2017 reflected in the Policies, Procedures, and Practices Manual (PPPM),
University Senate requests that the administration share both the complete parking study and the complete parking policy (not simply the FrontPage highlights) with the campus community and
That the administration not implement the parking policy until it can be reviewed and endorsed by University Senate, Staff Council, and Student Government Association.
