Missing Student Policy and Procedures- Dave Groseclose
The policy would include notifying a student that they have the option to designate a confidential contact number in case the student goes missing. The contact person can be a close friend or relative of their choice.
Policy needs to be in place by October 1st.
Affects the following departments:
- Housing
- Student Affairs
- Public Safety
This policy is already existing in Public Safety’s policies but senate would have to approve to adopt as a university policy.
Suggestion made to add a note to the form encouraging the student to inform the person they choose as their contact.
It seems the SAPC committee should review over. SGA representative, Megan Moss says that she will distribute to SGA’s Executive Committee for review.
RPIPC members all approve of this policy. It will be presented to University Senate at the next meeting (9/27/10).
Common Meeting Time
Since the Provost’s email in May, the chair of RPIPC has received a lot of feedback from faculty/staff/students regarding concerns about the new common meeting time and the class scheduling practices.
The committee decided it would be useful to collate issues/concerns from all colleges, departments, and SGA to get a better understanding of the challenges the changes present. All committee members are asked to gather feedback/information from their respective areas.
Susan Allen reports Human Resources will be introducing new policies this fall:
- Motor vehicle policy
- Drug policy
RPIPC chair recommends sending that information to ECUS to distribute to the appropriate committees as they see fit.
Meeting adjourned at 1:28 p.m.
